The Williams County Agricultural Society convened for its regular board meeting on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Thaman Building in Montpelier. President Pam Goll called the meeting to order, with 10 directors present.

The board approved the minutes from the July 2025 regular meeting as presented, along with the July 2025 Treasurer’s Report with no amendments.

Mackenzie Frame, Pioneer Queen, requested the floor to speak. As an active member of her community, she introduced a new volunteer project to the Fair Board. Titled “Farm and Fashion,” Frame explained how she wants to bring the animals and the exhibitor closer together.

With the goal of including every species, she plans on hanging a sign-up sheet in every barn. “I want to include every species — because no species should be left out,” she stated.

There will be a $5.00 fee for entry. Frame noted that she would like to host her event on Thursday, directly after the 4-H parade on Youth Night.

“We need a few more exhibitors in our barn because you can never have too many. What other way to do that than fun?” Frame said.

With the first-place winner getting the half-pot prize, the rest of the fees will be donated to improving the fair’s funds. The board approved her request with no contest.

Committee reports and updates included merchant contracts soon to be signed and completed, bleacher repairs, and final cleanings being conducted by the Junior Fair Board.

The Firemen’s Breakfast has been officially scheduled for the second Saturday of the Fair, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The board then moved to schedule various sheriff watches and attendance sheets. Petitions to declare candidacy were accepted; Josh Balser of Bryan and Margaret Harrison of Pulaski Township.

With the final fair preparations underway, many renovation projects come to a close for the Williams County Fair. With the addition of new hog pens, the board asked participants to refrain from using metal ties and opt for zip ties instead.

The county fair board adjourned at 7:41 p.m.
