Across highways, front yards, and country roads, bright scripture signs stand as small but powerful reminders of faith; each one a reflection of prayer, purpose, and perseverance.
The initiative behind these displays, known as Scripture Signs Across America, began humbly in the front yard of founder Bonnie Morgan and her husband, Mike Morgan. It has since grown into a far-reaching ministry of hope and encouragement.
What began as a single idea born in prayer has blossomed into a nationwide movement. Founded in 2017, the movement stands eight years strong.
Today, Scripture Signs can be found in 14 different states and even as far away as the Philippines – though the Morgans believe their true reach is immeasurable.
From the very start, faith has guided every aspect of the mission. Bonnie describes each stage, from concept to installation, as the result of prayerful discernment.
Not a single decision was made without prayer first,” she said. “Many of the scriptures I choose are verses I needed to hear myself,” she explained. “I wanted to share that message with the world.”
Now offering over 70 different sign styles and phrases, with more on the way, the Morgans have made it possible for others to take part in the ministry. The response, Bonnie said, has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Having the excitement from a mission at home has been one of my favorite parts,” she shared. People can participate in her ministry movement from their very front yards – or through the bumper stickers on their cars.
To date, Bonnie estimates that more than 1,000 Scripture Signs have been placed nationwide. Six permanent signs now stand throughout the region, with four more currently being installed – each one serving as a lasting symbol of faith and community connection.
Despite the scope of the project, Bonnie and Mike do not accept any personal profit from the effort. All money goes back into producing more signs. The couple also offers magnets and stickers, allowing supporters to display verses in smaller, everyday ways.
Whether on a country roadside or halfway across the world, words from Scripture Signs Across America carry the same purpose: to offer a quiet but steadfast message of faith to all who pass by – one verse at a time.
