Edon Northwest Local Schools will register children for 2016-2017 Kindergarten and KinderKids classes during a Registration and Screening Clinic set for Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8, 2016 in the school’s media center. To be eligible for entrance into either classroom, each child must be five years of age on or before September 30, 2016; students currently in the KinderKids program do not need to go through the screening process.
Students will be registered in groups of seven on both days at a time most convenient to parents: 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. Parents will be notified by telephone or mail of their appointment time when group assignments are completed.
A vision and hearing screening; language and speech evaluation, fine motor assessment, gross motor evaluation, verbal skills assessment, random letter assessment and readiness assessment will be given to each child during the clinic while parents complete several papers necessary for entrance to school.
Parents must also bring to the screening a Certified Birth Certificate, a complete record of all vaccinations for review, proof of residency and applicable custody papers to finalize the registration process.
