VARSITY SOFTBALL

Archbold 12, Otsego 1

The Blue Streaks scored five runs over the first three innings as they cruised to a non-league victory.  Alyssa Ziegler and Andi Peterson were the driving forces for Archbold as Zeigler took the mound and and allowed just two Otsego hits while striking out six over the six inning stretch. Meanwhile Peterson had the hot bat as she smacked a home run and added a double to produce four RBI. Zeigler helped herself out going two for four at the plate with one RBI. Neila Kinsman and Shelby Cline added one RBI apiece. Kinsman was two for three at the plate and Cline was two for four. It was the Streaks first win of the young season as they sit at 1-1.

Fairview 4, Bryan 1

Although the Golden Bears out hit Fairview 8-6 the Apaches used two runs in the first and second inning to hold off Bryan for the non-league win. Accumulating the eight hit for the Golden Bears were Kenzie Andrews who was two for four with a double and a single. Trista Savage was two for three with two singles, Gracie Voigt, Kayla Altaffer, April Rickenberg amd Whitney Whetro each added a single. Savage went the whole way on the mound allowing two runs on six hits with two strike outs. Bryan moves to 2-2 overall on the season.

JUNIOR VARSITY SOFTBALL

Bryan 11, Fairview 7

Sheridan Miller was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts.  Joslin Miller went two for four with a double and a triple.  Hannah Maxcy two for three, Brittney O’Neill three for four and Hailey Bostater two for four with two doubles.

VARSITY BASEBALL


Swanton 10, Toledo Waite 0

Jordan Nyler tossed a no-hitter as the Bulldogs manhandled Waite. Swanton scored first in the bottom of the second inning with two runs then added five in the third and three in their half of the fifth to end the game with the 10-run rule. Gunnar Oakes was a perfect two for two at the plate including a double. Josh Adcock was one for two but his hit produced three RBI. Roman Epley and Michael Lawniczak were both one for three and contributed with two RBI apiece. Lawniczak’s hit was a double.
