anna vogelzangOn Friday, April 29 at 7:00 pm singer/songwriter Anna Vogelzang will perform as part of the Carnegie Concert Series at the Bryan
Main Library.

Anna Vogelzang has been making songs since 2000, playing them in public since 2003, and driving them around the country since 2007. Her melody-driven, multi-instrumental folk-pop ballads have been met with warm reviews (9/10, Pop-Matters) & landed her at festivals, conferences, and on bills with some of her heroes, including Sara Bareilles, Gillian Welch, Mirah, Anais Mitchell, Laura Gibson, Wye Oak, Steve Poltz, Amanda Palmer, & many more. In 2015, Anna returned to the studio to work with producer Todd Sickafoose on her fifth LP, Hikerwhich is set for release May 06. Vogelzang plays the banjo, ukuleles, guitar, and kalimba on stage, but has always been a singer who loves words and feelings first and foremost.

The Carnegie Concert Series was created by Williams County Public Library as a way to showcase newer talent, both local and nationwide. The series has already featured talented musicians such as Dakota Dave Hall, Andrew Ellis, Kerry Patrick Clark, and Seth Abram. These events have limited seating so the library encourages attendees to arrive early. Doors will open half an hour before each show at 6:30 p.m. and will lock at 7:00 pm out of courtesy to the performer. All of the concerts are free to the public and are funded through donations.

Anna’s concert will take place in the Carnegie area of the Main Library, and her CD’s will be available to purchase. Additional acts in the Carnegie Concert Series will be added as they become available. Interested performers should email carnegieconcertseries@gmail.com
or call the library 419-636- 6734 Ext. 239. The Bryan Main Library is located at 107 E. High Street.
