Brailey Depot Day
A reminder that Saturday, June 18 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm is the annual Brailey Depot Fun Day. Join us for some unique old-fashioned festivities at the restored depot – walk with stilts, play chess, watch a blacksmith, grind cornmeal, press cider, make yarn dolls, candles or rope! The Jim Wagoner family opens the depot for this fun family event each year to benefit the Swanton Public Library. Refreshments are available by donation. Everyone is welcome!

Backyard Beekeeping
Ever wanted to learn more about bees and beekeeping? Beekeeper Bethany Carlson will share lots of interesting information during her presentation at the library on Thursday, June 9 from 7-8 pm. Please call to register, register online or stop at the circulation desk. This program is free and open to all!

Introduction to Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an exercise characterized by agile steps with smooth and flowing movements; it can improve energy, healing and relaxation with regular practice. Dawn Seigneur, owner of Sukha Yoga in Delta and a physical therapist with over 30 years of experience, will be at the library on Thursday, June 16 to present a program on the history of Tai Chi and to lead students in some of the exercises. This free program runs from 7-8 pm. Please call the library to register, register online, or at the circulation desk.

Our Yoga Class Line-Up!
Beginning Yoga, with instructor Aimee Strohbeck, will be offered on Mondays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 10:15 – 11:45 am. These sessions are slightly more advanced than those on Thursdays, providing students with an opportunity to expand their skill level. Class fee is $10 per session with multi-session tickets available. Students are asked to bring a yoga mat and towel and to wear comfortable clothing.

Intro to Yoga
This will be offered on Thursdays, June 2, 9, 23 and 30 from 10:15- 11:45 am. and June 16 from 11:15 – 12:45. Class fee is by donation, with proceeds benefitting the library. Students are asked to bring a yoga mat and towel and to wear comfortable clothing.

Chair Yoga
This involves the same poses done in a Hatha class, modified to make them gentler while sitting or sometimes standing with a chair for balance and support. Our chair yoga classes will be held on Thursdays from 2-3 pm; June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Class fee is $5. Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothes.

Evening Yoga
This is a beginning level class with an emphasis on relaxation techniques and stress relief. An evening yoga class is a nice way to bring the body and mind back to a state of balance at day’s end, often resulting in a better night’s sleep. Classes are Monday evenings: June 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 6:00-7:15. Class cost is $10, and students are asked to wear comfortable, stretchy clothes and to bring a yoga mat and towel.

Cardmaking
Our series of Cardmaking Classes, led by Anna Geis, continues in June with instructions for making an embossed thank you card, a friendship card and a get well card. The class will be Thursday, June 23 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm and the fee is $5 for 3 cards. Children 8 and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Please call 419-826-2760 to register or register online.
