Archbold, OH – Friday, June 3 is National Doughnut Day – a holiday focused on enjoying one of America’s favorite sweet breakfast treats! Again this year Sauder Village will be celebrating the sweet deliciousness of doughnuts with special deals and prizes at the Doughbox Bakery.
“Friday will be a fun day at the Doughbox Bakery as we celebrate National Doughnut Day,” shared Kim Krieger, PR/Media Relations. “With many doughnut specials and even the chance to win prizes – National Doughnut Day is a great reason for people to stop by and pick-up some tasty sweet treats for family and friends to enjoy!”
National Doughnut Days is celebrated on the first Friday of June each year. The holiday was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 in Chicago to honor the “Donut Lassies” who served the sweet doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. The holiday celebrates the doughnut – an edible, circular-shaped piece of dough which is deep-fried and sweetened.
To encourage even more people to celebrate this special holiday, the Doughbox Bakery is offering many doughnut specials throughout the day. Doughnut deals include a Baker’s Dozen (13) doughnuts for the price of a dozen, half price doughnut with purchase of a coffee or hot chocolate, and a free glass of milk for kids with doughnut purchase. There will also be an individual doughnut special – buy one doughnut, get one at half price. Guests can also enter a drawing for the chance to win a Family Four Pack of admission tickets to Sauder Village.
The Doughbox Bakery will be open on National Doughnut Day from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with the drive-thru window opening at 6:30 a.m.
