Tom's Fireworks - Pretty Darn Cool - Auburn, Indiana - 260-570-8607 - 10% off Military, Police, Fire and First Responders

The Theme for the Summer Reading Program this year is On Your Mark, Get Set, Read! The program will be all about sports. We will start out with talking to the kids about warming up, and eating right. Then each day they will play a different sport…volleyball, badminton, archery, golf, basketball, baseball, and an obstacle course. The program runs from June 21 to July 28 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Ages 4 years old through 5th grade (the grade the student just finished in school) will come both Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. We will have prizes, food, and games. Everyone can win prizes every day they come by keeping a log of all the books they read, for each day they attend, completing a challenge each session, and how they compete as a team during the sports activities.
Monday, June 20 will be our Kick-off program. We will have Johnny, the mascot from the Fort Wayne Tincaps here to entertain the kids. This program will run from 1:30 to 2:30. We will start off by explaining the program and letting the kids sample the different activities they will be doing throughout the program. Then we will end the day with Johnny and ice cream.
Tuesday, July 26 we will have magician Greg Carson here to entertain the kids during this session, and Thursday, July 28 will be our ending program. We will have a picnic with fun sports themed games. Come and join us for fun times this Summer!!
If you have any questions, call the Library, or stop in at the Children’s circulation desk.

In collaboration with the ‘Friends of Harrison Lake’, we will have a Story Trail out at the Lake this Summer for everyone to enjoy! The Story Trail will consist of 20 panels that will start at the checkout office and continue around the woods and back to the office. Each station will be a page from the book, with instructions where to go next on a shaded walk through the park. The first story will be Smokey the Bear. There will be a new story each month for June, July, August, September, and ending the series with a Halloween book for Harrison Lake’s two Halloween Weekends in October.

Family Fun Night
