Three communities will get their wish and gain a share of $80,000 in funding this summer for various improvement projects.
The Williams County Board of Commissioners approved a recommendation from Niki Warncke, of the Maumee Valley Planning Organization for the distribution of funding for Project Year 16 CDBG Community Development Allocation Program. The county had $100,000, but 20 percent went for administration costs.
The communities and projects that will be funded, if the state concurs, are $23,500 for Jefferson Township demolish the building at 07055 U.S. 127; $11,200 for the village of Stryker to make a restroom ADA compliant in the Village Hall and $45,300 for Millcreek-West Unity Schools to create 2,160 square feet of ADA compliant parking spaces and 800 linear feet pf walkway. Also the district will add two ramps at the school on West Jackson Street.
Board President Brian Davis cautioned the communities not to spend any money on the projects until confirmation comes back later this summer.
The board also approved the following resolutions:
Increasing the contracted amount for child placement and related services with the Ohio Teaching Family Association by $21,341 to a new total of $81,341. The contract expires June 30.
A subsidy grant for $1,138,000 to Community Based Connection Programs for non-resident felons and non-supervisory treatment program.
