Williams County Commissioners Hire Information Technology Manager

The Williams County Board of Commissioners approved the following resolutions July 14:
-Hired Jeremy A. Suffel as Manager Information Technology, a salaried position with a starting rate of pay of $65,000 annually. Suffel’s start date and healthcare coverage will begin Aug. 1.
Commissioners approved Resolution 16-0226 May 23 entering into a Memorandum of Understanding between the Williams County Board of Commissioners and Williams County Data Board in regard to the hiring of a Manager Information Technology to be employed full time by the County for IT services.
Interviews were held July 11 with the Data Board and Greg Slattery present. The decision was made then to offer the position to Suffel.
A grant/loan agreement from the Ohio Public Works Commission Project – State Capital Improvement Program between Williams County and Ohio Public Works Commission for the Durham Estates Sanitary Sewer. The agreement will provide an amount not in excess of $153,750.00. The agreement is effective July 1.
An IV-E contract with Community Teaching Homes for Title IV-E agencies and providers for the provisions of child placement and related services with the maximum amount payable pursuant to this contract being $26,000 The term of the contract is from June 20 through Sept. 20.

The Commissioners made the following actions July 11:
Received and filed a petition for a regular type annexation from Ryan S. Thompson, Esq., 121 W. Butler St, Bryan Ohio, Agent for the petitioners, as required by ORC Section 709.02, to annex certain territory, adjacent and contiguous to the city of Bryan.
The board has 30 days to act on the petition dated July 14.
The board set a hearing date 11 a.m. Monday, Sept.12 in the Commissioners Hearing Room, One Courthouse Square, 4th Floor, Bryan.
The board appointed Christopher Walker to fill the remaining term of Law Library Resources Board member William Brenner.
Brenner died recently. His term expires Dec. 31, 2019.
The Law Library Resources Board provides legal research, reference, and library services to the county and to the municipal corporations, townships and courts within the county and managing the coordination acquisition, and use of legal resources.
Approved a memorandum of understanding submitted by Mandy Frank, director and Stephanie Shook, deputy director, of the Williams County Board of Elections, between Ohio DAS and Williams County Board of Elections and Williams County Commissioners for electronic poll books with the maximum amount payable pursuant to this MOU being $45,742.12. The term of the contract is from date of signing through June 30, 2017.
Approved a new mileage rate for county employees who use their own vehicles.
The rate had risen to 57.5 center per mile, but that amount was reduced to 54 cents per mile following action by the Internal Revenue Service.
Witnesses in civil cases in the county courts will be reimbursed at 50.5 cents per mile.
