West Unity VBS WEBWEST UNITY, OH – Children from around the area are gathering in West Unity for a free day camp promising to take them back in time to the days of the dinosaurs. Jurassic VBS: Journey to the Promised Land will take place from 6-8pm each night now through July 29, 2016.

West Unity’s First Presbyterian and United Methodist Churches are sponsoring the event to provide area children with pter-rific games, mammothly incredible crafts, jaw-gnashing delicious snacks, tail-slappingly great songs, gigantic fun, and the best lessons this side of the Cretaceous period, with the goal of enriching their lives now and help them grow into adults equipped to be the leaders of tomorrow.

“We are striving to provide a top-notch experience for the kids, with better crafts, better snacks, better games, and better decorations,” shares Pastor Greg Coleman of the U.M. Church.

Sets including an 8-foot tall volcano and several prehistoric trees will provide an interactive experience very different from the handheld devices children spend so much time with nowadays. At the end of the week, one lucky child will go home with an inflatable dinosaur costume.

Children will share their experiences with family and friends in a program at 7:30pm on Friday, July 29th. Refreshments will be served afterward. Participants that can return will share songs from the week again on Sunday, July 31st during the U.M. Church’s 10:30am worship service.

Registrations are currently being accepted and will also be taken each night of the event, starting at 5:45pm. Forms and other event information can be found on the day camp’s website at WestUnityUMC.weebly.com/VBS-2016. Two Tyrannosaurus Rexes and congregants from the West Unity United Methodist Church marched in the Kunkle Parade on July 4th to promote Jurassic VBS: Journey to the Promised Land.
