The county is ready to bid on removing the sewer plant at Durham Estates in Center Township, but needs to clear up some easements first.

County Engineer Todd Roth said his department would trade a 1-acre parcel for the easement on a golf course. The goal is to get the easement settled before the project is put out for bid.

Roth has the prosecutor’s office reviewing the proposed agreement.

Roth’s office is working to get a new roof on the Opdycke Barn. The project is a requirement for a $75,000 grant from the state, he said.

“We’ll do whatever it takes for that $75,000,” Roth said.

Roth also reviewed the status of collections from property owners for 2017 for the county’s ditches. While some ditch funds are in good shape, others are in deficit.

The county anticipates collections totaling $412,725 in 2017.

The board approved the following resolutions:

-Awarded a contract to replace an air conditioning unit in the Personal Tax Office at the Courthouse not to exceed $7,067 to Stark’s Plumbing and Heating.

-Approved the appointment of Ryan S. Thompson as a special prosecutor to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest.

-Approved a Planned Maintenance Agreement with Buckeye Power Sales for a generator system at the East Annex. The amount is not to exceed $1,114 and is good for three years.

-Approved a promissory note for the Durham Estates project for $100,000.
