On September 9, 2016, at 9:13 AM, the Wauseon Police Department received a call from the management team at IAC Corp, 555 W Linfoot St, about a message left inside the building. Upon arrival, officers met with the management team and began to investigate the complaint. The message left was a bomb threat that was to occur at the factory. The situation was discussed and due to other incidents at the factory, it was determined that the best course of action was to have the factory evacuated and searched. Toledo Police Department canine units responded to the scene and assisted in the search of the building. A suspicious package was located, but later determined to not be of concern.
At 12:11 PM, the building was cleared and workers were allowed to return to the building.
The Wauseon Police Department was assisted by the Wauseon Fire Department, Fulton County EMA, and the Toledo Police Department.
