Tuesday, September 27 Scoring Summaries

HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

The Montpelier Locomotives competed in a tri-meet at Hilltop with Archbold.  Montpelier won the boys race with 32 points. Hilltop ran second with 41 points and Archbold finished with 50. Hilltop won the girls race with 35 points followed by Archbold with 46. The Locomotives did not have enough runners to establish an overall score. The overall boy’s winner was Jared Rediger from Montpelier with a time of 18:11 and the overall girl’s winner was Jacqueline Carlson from Montpelier with a time of 21:13.  The results for both Montpelier teams are as follows: Jared Rediger (1st, 18:11), Alec Waterston (2nd, 18:29), Brandon Eitniear (7th, 19:43), Austin Miller (10th, 20:41), Daniel Banks (12th, 20:42), Tre Hutchinson (13th, 21:00), Bradey Clair (18th, 21:47), Nate Hutchinson (21st, 22:37). Hilltop had three runners in the top 10 led by Sam Hartman running third in 18:43. Following Hartman were: David Carpenter (4th, 19:19), Blake Funkhouser (9th, 20:25). The Bluestreaks had three runners in the top 10 including: Bryson Taylor (5th, 19:24), Brendon Johns (6th, 19:41), TJ Rice (8th, 20:18). Hilltop, winning the girls race, had four competitors in the top 10 including: Landrey Brown (2nd, 21:21), Kara Brown (5th, 22:32), Sydni Rivera (6th, 23:20), Shanti Wyse (10th, 24:42). Archbold’s Gwynne Riley ran third to represent her team in the top 10 with a time of 21:36. The Montpelier girls were led by Jacqueline Carlson (1st, 21:13), Kimme Engels (4th, 22:23), Lydia Grime (7th, 24:21), MaryJoe McBride (14th, 33:21).

BOYS VARSITY SOCCER

Wauseon 6, Toledo Waite 1

The Indians picked up their first win of the season in the non-league game. Wauseon was led by Zach Fink with 3 goals. Jory Kessler, Chase Soltis, and Drew Krall also had goals for the Indians. Wauseon improves to 1-9-1.


Bryan 2, Liberty Center 0

The Golden Bears improved to 8-1-3 on the season with the shutout NWOAL victory. Henry DeLeon scored the first goal on a rebound off of his taken penalty kick.  Altand Sayarath scored the second goal for the Golden Bears, assisted by Chandler Jackson.  Evan Smith had 4 saves in goal.  Bryan’s record moved to 3-0-1 in the NWOAL.

Archbold 9, Delta 1

The Bluestreaks dominated for their 11th win of the season against no defeats in the NWOAL match with Delta. The Streaks scored eight goals before the Panthers answered with one by Cade Long with 19:48 remaining in the game. Josh and Jared Kidder and Jonah Waidelich led Archbold with two goals each.


VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Edon (7-7, 5-3) was defeated by Pettisville scores were: 16-25, 9-25, 15-25. The Blackbirds (12-2) (8-0) were led by: Kyra Behnfeldt- 10/10 Serving w/2 Aces, 25 Digs;  Teagan Kauffman- 10/10 serving with 4 Aces, 20/22 Hitting w/13 Kills; Morgan Leppelmeier- 19/19 Serving, 19/22 Hitting w/7 Kills; Jess Youse- 7/8 Serving, 22/23 Hitting w/11 Kills;  Carly Bontrager- 14/14 Serving w/2 Aces, 94/96 Setting w/41 Assists; Sami Tilley- 10/12 Hitting w/6 Kills. Hannah Kaylor and Sara Hiller finished with five and four kills respectively.

North Central defeated Fayette in three sets with scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-20. Makayla Rizor led the Eagles with 28 passes and three digs. Makayla Knapp finished with 28 assists; Jessica Cheesbro had 19 serves including three aces and Makayla Hayes finished with 12 kills. Fayette was led by Kelsey Fruchey who contributed with 11 kills on 29 attack attempts. Bailee Smith added seven kills with 18 attack attempts.

Delta upended Evergreen in three sets with scores of 28-26, 25-17 and 25-21 in NWOAL action. The Panthers were led at the net by Mary Miller and Kinsey Finnen with 13 and 12 kills respectively. Miller added nine blocks and nine digs while Finnen had two service aces and 12 digs. Abby Freeman served up one ace, four blocks, 11 assists and seven digs.

Hilltop grabbed a four set BBC victory over Montpelier with scores of 25-19, 26-24, 20-25 and 25-15. Aubrey Wyse and Ariana Brown led the Cadets with 14 and 10 kills respectively. Wyse was 34/36 on attacks and Brown was 25/29.  Leading the Locos were Landri McKelvey with 10 kills, 15 assists, and 2 blocks and Caitlyn Nixon with 8 kills and Hanna Bumb with 11 assists and 3 aces.

JUNIOR VARSITY VOLLEYBALL


Edon was defeated by Pettisville with scores of  21-25, 25-22, 21-25. (No individual results submitted,)

North Central were two set winners over Fayette with scores of 25-22 and 25-14. (No individual results submitted.)

Pettisville downed Edon in three games with scores of  25-21, 22-25, 25-21. The Blackbirds were led by: Danielle King – 17/18 hitting, 3 kills, 3 blocks; Ryeana Klopfenstein – 13/15 hitting, 2 kills, 2 blocks, 17/18 serve receive, 12 digs; Madeleine Wixom – 7 digs; Mikayla Graber – 47/48 setting, 8 assists; Mauricea Crouch – 67/69 setting, 12 assists; Lindsey Crossgrove – 7/7 serving, 2 aces; Jordan skates – 18/22 hitting, 6 kills, 1 block, 21/22 serve receive, 17 digs.

Hilltop was a 25-22, 22-25 and 25-17 winner over Montpelier. (No individual results submitted.)

FRESHMEN VOLLEYBALL

Edon freshman defeated Pettisville with scores of 25-13, 25-18. (No individual results were submitted).

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL

The Pettisville Blackbirds 8th graders were on the short end of an 18-25, 10-25 match with Edon. In the seventh grade match Edon was also victorious with scores of 25-6 and 25-14.

North Central 7th grade defeated Fayette 25-8 and 25-10.  They are 12-1 and remain undefeated in the BBC. In the eighth grade match the Eagles defeated Fayette 25-21 and 25-14 moving them to 6-7 and 4-3 in the BBC.

Montpelier’s 7th graders lost to Hilltop in two sets (8-25, 19-25). The Cadets were a three set

winner in the 8th grade match winners over Montpelier in three sets with scores of 25-20,

12-25, 18-25.

GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS

Archbold 4, Toledo Christian 1

The Bluestreaks evened their season record at 9-9 with the victory. The only setback of the match came in First Singles where Caroline Kinsman fell 7-5, 0-6, 5-10. Darby Stevens was a 6-0, 6-2 winner in Second Singles and Isabel Krieger won in Third Singles 6-1, 6-2.  In Doubles action Amanda Payne and Morgan Perry won 6-1, 6-0 in First Doubles and Leah Miller and Itzy Gaona were 6-1, 6-0 winners in Second Doubles.

JUNIOR HIGH GOLF

Montpelier took 1st place at the BBC Jamboree at Suburban shooting a 203. The team record is

now 30-1 on the season. Leading the Locomotives were: Tylor Yahraus-57, Collin Crisenbury-59,

Ethen Marihugh-51, Hunter Burlew-51, Brayden JoHantgen-49 and Jake Clinger-52.
