(April 24, 1946): The Bryan Roller Rink opened. The Bryan Roller Rink was built by Alva Cupp, his son Bernard, and daughter-in-law Eileen.
The Cupps operated a skating rink on the second floor of what is now the American Legion hall in Stryker. The approximately 50- by 150-foot, one-story concrete block skating rink was constructed on the south side of Edgerton Street west of Union Street.
At the time of its opening, the Bryan Press newspaper reported, “The owners will hold roller skating Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings. Monday and Friday nights will be set aside for private parties.
Round and square dancing every Saturday night starting Saturday, May 4 with Harold Walter’s seven piece orchestra from Napoleon.”
The Bryan Roller Rink closed circa 1985.
