When Jay Trisel of AJ Door started his business with his brother in 1996, he had no idea where he would be 20 years later. As with any new business the beginning was a struggle to get his footing. The flooding in Bryan and big breaks with Mike Hurst Construction, Mock and Buehrer in Napoleon and Chase Brass Company helped turn things around though and has turned the company into the business it is today and for that, Jay will be forever grateful.

This gratitude is being spread to his loyal customers and friends on July 29 and 30 as the annual Open House is turned into a 20 year birthday party and everyone is invited.

Since becoming sole owner and moving into the present location on Linden Street in West Unity in 2004, Jay has always hosted an event to say thank you. This year, he decided that surviving the ups and downs of 20 years was something worthy of the two day event he’s hosting as a major thank you to his loyal customers.

On Friday, July 29, the Joe Vasquez Band and Signature Band will be playing about 6 pm. This will be followed up by the legendary Kentucky Headhunters. This free concert is held outside and bringing your own seating is encouraged.

Jay says, “I wanted to do something big this year. We have customers in a 100 mile radius that have been great to us over the years. We’ve received jobs from places like Chicago, Kentucky and Indianapolis but it’s the local people who keep us going. I’m fortunate that CHI buys their steel from Delta, OH and we have Aro Truline and Napoleon Lynx located in Archbold as a local supplier. I’m able to buy products locally for those locally supporting us. This business has grown so much over the last 20 years that we have now served 3 generations.”

“I owe a lot to my family, friends and co-workers and we want to thank the people in a big way”, he continued. The birthday bash will continue on Saturday as well with the normal Open House activities of Car Show, Dyno Days, food, friends and fun. The Joe Vasquez and Signature Bands will return for more live music and special garage door pricing will be offered for those wanting to do business. A lot of extra help has been given to make this event successful and Jay is grateful to all and hopes everyone who is able stops over to say hello during one or both days. If you can’t make it call 419-924-5533 and they can help you with all your garage door needs.
