Alfred Rippa (1917 – 2014) Obit

Rippa WEBAlfred Rippa, age 97, of Wauseon, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Fulton County Health Center. Alfred had been an executive chef for many years, having retired from the Hillsdale Country Club.

Alfred was born in Vineland, New Jersey on February 25, 1917, the son of Charles and Vernia Rippa. On June 11, 1942 he married Lorna Badenhop, and she survives. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific Theater, where he was awarded two bronze stars.

Surviving, besides his wife, Lorna, is their daughter, Jacqueline (Dan) Cahill of Palm Springs, California and sister, Margaret Rippa of Palm Desert, California.

Visitation for Alfred will be from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 8, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Julie Parsell, officiating. Interment will be in the Wauseon Union Cemetery.


The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
