Alice R. Bostelman, age 67, of Swanton, was called to her Heavenly home Friday evening, March 5, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. She was born on May 22, 1953 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to the late Ray Whitson and Charlene (Skiver) Smith.

After graduating high school from Delta, she attended Northwest State Community College and received her nursing license.  Alice was united in marriage to Paul Bostelman Sr. on September 18, 1970 and together were blessed with three children, Paul (Megan) Bostelman Jr. of Swanton, Christopher (Lori) Bostelman of Liberty Center and the late Lori Ann Gonyer who passed away on August 30, 2016.

For over 30 years, she served as an LPN for Swanton Health Care. There she was able create loving bonds with the residents as well as the staff.  Alice enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, gardening and promoting her side business “Jewelry by Alice”.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Paul Sr. and two surviving children, Paul Jr. and Christopher Bostelman; Alice is survived by her son-in-law, John Gonyer; grandchildren, Lexi (Josh) Creech, Levi Gonyer, Mariah and Maci Bostelman; brothers, Jimmy Whitson, Carl (Kristy) Whitson and John (Betty) Whitson; sisters, Lou Ann (Victor) Starr, Cathryn (John) Raabe, Karon Whitson and Connie (John) McClanahan.

In honoring Alice’s wishes a celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.

Those wishing a show of sympathy may consider a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr., Suite B, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 in her memory.

Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com
