Annabelle West, 100, of Bryan, Ohio passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center, Bryan.

Annabelle was born November 18, 1924, in Bryan, Ohio, daughter of the late Wesley Owen and Martha (Erleston) Lyons.

She was a 1943 graduate of Bryan High School. Annabelle married Alvin West on June 11, 1943, and they were married for 56 years until his passing in January 2000.


She worked as a salesclerk for Newberry Store for 18 years and Caroll-Ames for 22 years. She was a devoted member of the Bryan First Church of Christ where she participated in the Senior Saint Ministry and Dorcas Circle. Annabelle volunteered in the Ladies Auxiliary at CHWC Bryan Hospital for 12 years and Bryan Outreach for 12 years.

Surviving are two children, David (Karen) West of Howard, Ohio, and Joanne (Robert) Taylor of Clarksville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Tami (Dan) Benyei, Todd (Amy) West, Jeannie (Scott) Fisher, and Karen (Carl) Cox; eight great-grandchildren, Lindsay Williamson, Ava West, Claire Benyei, Jack Benyei, Harley (Ricky) Lamb, Austin (Kiarra) Sonner, Brody Fisher, and Mallory Fisher; four great-great-grandchildren, Paisley, Jensen, Elijah, and Kennedi; brother, LeRoy Lyons; sister, Mary Jane Ridenour;

Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin West; two sons, Alvin West II, and Robert West; three brothers, Ralph Lyons, Clarence Lyons, and Richard Lyons; four sisters, Donna Smith, Margaret Stull, Florence Strobel, and Kay Smith.


Visitation for Annabelle West will be held Friday, November 29, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 N. Lynn Street, Bryan. Graveside funeral services will follow on Friday, beginning at 1:15 p.m. at Brown Cemetery, Bryan with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating.
