Community Health Professionals (CHP) Home Care and Hospice marked a major milestone on Tuesday, June 25th, celebrating 50 years of service with an open house and ribbon cutting at its Archbold location.

The event welcomed local residents, supporters, and community leaders for a midday gathering that highlighted CHP’s decades-long commitment to compassionate care. The open house ran from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the official ribbon cutting taking place at noon.

In addition to recognizing five decades of service, the event also helped raise awareness for CHP’s Adult Day Center, a welcoming space that offers meaningful daytime activities and support for adults who benefit from added care throughout the day.

The center is especially helpful for families who may need time for work, errands, or rest. A free trial option is available for those interested in seeing how the program can fit their needs.

The Archbold office is CHP’s northernmost location, part of a broader nonprofit network serving communities across Ohio.

Staff members, including Clinical Nursing Supervisor Jill Frey and Adult Day Care Coordinator Cheryl Smith, expressed their gratitude to the community and reflected on the importance of the relationships built through their work.

“This work is about building trust and being there during some of life’s hardest moments,” one team member shared. “Being able to help and form real connections makes it all meaningful.”

CHP continues to welcome volunteers for both its hospice and adult day services. CHP also operates an inpatient hospice center in Defiance, providing families with an additional layer of comfort and care not offered by many other providers.
