Ardith Rose Rupp, age 96, of Archbold, passed away on November 25, 2023 at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. Ardith spent her life caring for her family and her home.
Ardith was born on September 13, 1927, in Fayette, to the late Earl and Helen (Quillet) Schaffner. She was a Fayette High School graduate.
She later married the love of her life, Lowell Rupp, who preceded her in death in 2002. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage together. Ardith enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, and canning vegetables.
She was an active member of the Archbold Evangelical Church, where she helped with the youth program in the quiz ministry and was active in the Ladies Aid. She was a faithful follower of Christ. Ardith dearly loved and supported her family.
Surviving Ardith is her son, Bruce (JoAnne) Rupp of Archbold; son, Larry (Suzie) Rupp of Stryker; daughter, Pam (Mark) Wanemacher of Archbold; son, Leslie (Jennifer) Rupp of Cincinnati; and son-in-law, Richard Nelson of Napoleon. She is also survived by grandchildren, Megan, Jefferson, Zachary, Mindy, Ashley, Dallas, Taylor, Jared, Jason, Courtney, Caitlyn, and Machen; 24 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lynette Hooker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; daughter, Beverly Nelson; granddaughter, Melissa Rupp; her parents; and brothers, Paul, Robert, and Arlen Schaffner.
Visitation for Ardith will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Archbold Evangelical Church, from 3pm to 6pm. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the church, at 11am, with Pastor Matthew Boyers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Miracle Camp or the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice.
