On March 5th, 2021 at approximately 12:16am, officers with the Hicksville Police Department were investigating a suspicious vehicle sitting in the driveway of a residence in the 800 block of E. High St.

A male driver had exited the vehicle an officer pulled up and when the officer went to speak to him, the male got back into the vehicle and took off. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit began with the vehicle through the streets of Hicksville.

The vehicle continued into Dekalb County, Indiana on Co. Rd. 64 and ended on CR 75 after the vehicle left the roadway and traveled several hundred feet into a corn field until becoming stuck in the mud.

The male driver, who was later identified as Skyler Robertson, age 28, of Hamilton, Indiana, fled on foot from officers. A 27-year-old female was a passenger in the vehicle and was detained and released.

Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office, Defiance County Sheriff’s Office and their K-9 Units attempted tracking Robertson and he was not located and remains at large. There are active warrants for Robertson out of Tennessee, Georgia, and Colorado. Drugs and Paraphernalia were recovered from the vehicle.

Hicksville Police Department has issued a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of a Police Officer. Other charges will be forwarded to Defiance County Prosecutors Office for review.

Robertson does have a history of violence and drug use, so please do not approach and contact your local law enforcement agency or Hicksville Police Department at 419-542-6661.
