BRYAN: May 22 – The Edon Bombers went toe-to-toe with the Ayersville Pilots in the D-IV District Semis, only to have untimely errors clip their wings as the Pilots edged Edon out of the tourney by a 3-2 count.
Ayersville jumped out to a 2-0 first inning with timely hitting and aggressiveness on the basepaths. Landon Bloir plated Brock Thiel in the fourth to cut the lead, but an error opened the door for Ayersville to get that run back in the home half of the frame.
Trevor Green scored on a wild pitch in the sixth to make it a 3-2 game, but the Bombers could not cap the rally in the seventh.
