Barbara Jean Taylor, 81, of Montpelier passed away late Sunday evening at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier. She was born on June 21, 1934 in West Jefferson, Williams County to Robert Sylvester and Leola C. (Mercer) Peters. Barbara attended Montpelier High School. She married Robert James Taylor and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1989.

Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan. For over 22 years she worked at Robinair in Montpelier in the Assembly Department.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Carlin of Montpelier and Rebecca (Pastor James) Means of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Donald Peters and son-in-law William Carlin.


Visitation for Barbara will be on Saturday, August 22nd from 11am-1pm at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home on Empire Street in Montpelier. Services will follow at 1pm with Pastor John MacFarlane to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Bryan.
