Beatriz O. Rodriguez, of Wauseon, Ohio, known by her family as “Tiche” passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the age of 78.
She was born March 21, 1940 in Uvalde, Texas to the late Francisco G. Rodriguez and the late Maria (Ortiz) Rodriguez. She had been a resident of Wauseon since 1964. On October 19, 1965 she was hired at Sauder Woodworking in Archbold where she worked until her retirement on Februarey 25, 1994.
She also spent a few years working part-time in Delta at the former Jan’s Bridal Store where she was a seamstress. In her spare time Beatriz spent time doing what she loved most and that was sewing, crocheting and knitting. It gave her heart joy to share the things she made with those she loved. She also enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, which she displayed proudly in her home.
But her biggest joy in her life was her family. She loved spending time with her sibling, talking and laughing and sharing memories with them when they were together. And also spoiling her many nieces and nephews, whom she loved like her own children.
Beatriz came to know Christ in her early 20’s and accepted Christ in her life in 1964. She had been a member of the Good Shepard Mennonite Church, Archbold and then later a member of the Assembly of God Church in Burlington, Ohio. She also taught Sunday School for a few years. In that time she also attended Bible School at the Spanish Eastern Bible Institute and graduated in 1976.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Delma (Eugenio) Diaz of Wauseon, Jessie (Janie) Rodriguez of Pettisville, Amelia Rodriguez of Archbold, Teresa (Eddie) Anaya of Toledo and many, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by an infant brother, Jesus Rodriguez, both parents, sister, Dora Rodriguez, sister, Odilia Hernandez, brother, Raul Rodriguez, brother, Antonio Rodriguez, and sister, Noemi Cardenas.
Friends may call for a time of visitation with the family 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019 in the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 in the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, Ohio. Pastor Randy Burns and Pastor Israel Aguilar will officiate. Interment will follow in Wauseon Union Cemetery. Funeral luncheon meal will follow the interment in Ruihley Park Pavilion, Archbold, Ohio.
