Benfield Wines out of Swanton recently celebrated its grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting. Held in partnership with the Swanton Area Chamber of Commerce, Benfield Wines held their event on Saturday, September 28th at 12:00 p.m.
Benfield Wines recently underwent a significant renovation that helped to transform the space into a destination spot for Swanton.
Anyone who has a love of wine, or is just looking for an event space, will now more than ever have Benfield Wines to call upon.
The biggest change to this building is its new open-air room that features two full-length garage doors. These doors allow the room to open up right out to the street, which will come in very handy for future events.
This will also give those looking to host their events at Benfield Wines yet another reason to book the room, with its indoor and outdoor experience being a huge selling point.
Those who had been in the building before the renovation took place will remember a wall that used to split the new and much larger room.
This wall was removed, and the garage doors were added, along with a huge amount of infrastructure changes such as plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and more.
In addition to the building changes, Benfield Wines also shared a brand-new wine called Persephone’s Pomegranate.
New food was also disclosed, such as a new lasagna that will be right at home with flatbreads, paninis, and what owner Julia Benfield called, the “best pretzels ever”.
All of this of course joins the rest of the menu that includes 18 different wines, beer and 25 different kinds of bourbon.
Julia also explained just how excited she and her husband Rob Benfield have been. “We are the most excited about the bigger extended venue room. It has been great to work with local Swanton businesses. The Chamber has also been very supportive and has helped promote us both through this process.”
“I never would have imagined ten years ago when we talked about doing this that we would be in this beautiful building doing all of the fun things we do in the community and for our community.”
“We moved to Swanton to expand our business, so this has definitely been what we planned to do. We moved here with purpose, and we appreciate working with other small businesses and the chamber as we worked to bring back the historical aspects of this building.”
