The Blakeslee Village Council held their meeting on Sunday, March 20th at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Council first moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting that took place on February 20th.
Fiscal Officer Beth Rediger then reported to council that the revenue received since the last meeting totaled around $12,950 with expenses equaling $2,215.00.
Rediger noted that this balance will go down as ARS bills the Village monthly $760, for their services; residents get a good price break by going as a town wide group, and it works as long as residents continue to pay the amount due to the Village at the beginning of each year- $185 per house
Mayor Muehlfeld then noted that ARS has a scheduled big trash pickup for the village on Saturday, April 30th, 2022. A notice will be placed at the Post Office.
The mayor also informed council that he has spoken with Todd Roth, the County Engineer, and learned that the county has purchased a used tractor with an extension arm for mowing.
The county will try to mow the village owned hills by the overpass this year. The State will also spray the hill to stunt the growth of the plants there.
Clerk Rediger then informed council that all but one payment has been received for the 2022 trash and recycling fees.
This resident was sent a final notice letter letting them know that a total of $185 is due and if it is not paid, the amount will be added to their real estate taxes for collection.
Council then stated that Patrick Manahan did a good job for the village with the snow removal. With all issues attended to, council moved to adjourn for the evening.
