Edon’s Leanne Field will be the site of the hometown Bombers vs. Ayersville Pilots football “Jamboree” slated for Friday, August 23, 2013. Starting time is set for 6:00 p.m.

The event, sanctioned by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, is intended to be conducted during the scrimmage timeline, serving as a “dress rehearsal” for the upcoming season. Played in accordance with National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) playing rules, at least two quarters of action will be executed as a regular game ~ complete with all aspects of the football “Friday Night Lights” experience.

Admission at the gate is set at $4 for adults and $3 for students with a portion of ticket sales contributed to OHSAA’s Catastrophe Accident Insurance Fund. Covering all member schools’ athletes, the policy is in place to assist injured student-athletes whose medical treatment costs exceed twenty-five thousand dollars. While the annual insurance premium to OHSAA surpasses $600,000, its member schools pay no membership fee and no insurance fee.

Since its inception in 2009, “Jamborees” have generated more than seventy thousand dollars each year toward the Catastrophic Insurance Fund.

For more information, contact Don Walton, Athletic Director, at 419-272-3213.
