The Bryan Board of Public Affairs met on July 1 at 5:00 p.m. to review regular business and authorize a construction change directive that will increase the cost of the electric warehouse. In attendance were Chair Annette Schreiner, Bob Eyre, Dick Long, Jim Salsbury, and Karen Ford.

Following standard procedures, including roll call and the approval of minutes, the board moved into a report from the Clerk-Treasurer, John Lehner, and handled routine financial disbursements.

Business appeared as normal with no drastic changes to the annual and monthly expenses and revenues.

The main item of discussion was a resolution approving Construction Change Directive #1 for the new electric warehouse, a project originally approved through Resolution No. 13, 2025.

The change directive, submitted by Beilharz Architects and involving Siebenaler Construction Company, accounts for revised compliance measures, safety standards, and structural adjustments necessary for the project.

The update increases the total construction cost by over $98,000. This raises the full project amount to $1,289,342. The project remains within the Electric Department’s approved $1.4 million capital budget.

The directive was approved without altering the current completion timeline. The Bryan City Clerk-Treasurer, Lehner, was also authorized to issue payment upon confirmation of proper invoicing and fund availability.

The meeting concluded with an executive session held under Ohio Revised Code 121.22(G)(8). The closed-door discussion pertained to potential negotiations involving economic development assistance with other political subdivisions.

The next meeting of the Board of Public Affairs is scheduled to be held at Bryan Municipal Utilities on August 5, 2025 at 5 p.m.
