Carl E. Blankenship, 71 years of Bryan, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, in his residence. Carl was born February 19, 1953, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of the late Carl D. and Thelma (Livingood) Blankenship.
Carl served in the United States Army in the post-Vietnam Era. Carl was a truck driver, driving for Royalty Trucking, for 21 years, driving from coast to coast.
Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering on lawnmowers in his spare time. He was known as an excellent cook.
Surviving are two children, Carl E. Blankenship, and Kimberly Lynn Brazeau; 3 grandchildren, Jasmine Brazeau, Jean-Gabriel Brazeau, Alexander Taylor; one sister, Debra Berryman. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Sean Jones & Tristin Brazeau; one sister, Linda Dohm, and one brother-in-law, Lonny Berryman.
To honor Carl’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan.
The family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy to consider memorial contributions be made to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
