Cecil Murry (1937 – 2018)

Cecil Roy Murry, age 80, of Wauseon, passed away in his home on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Prior to his retirement he had been a Prudential Agent for 27 years in Wauseon. Cecil had also served as a Fulton County Deputy Sheriff, and was a volunteer fireman for Wauseon Fire Department. Cecil was co-owner of R.O.C. Aviation in Wauseon.

Cecil was born in Fulton County, Ohio on July 25, 1937, the son of Clarence and Grace (Guilford) Murry. On August 27, 1961, he married Patricia Ann Armstrong, and she survives. He was a member of Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was also a Commercial Pilot, having flown for Chief Publishing for two years, and a professional truck driver. He was a member of the Wauseon Rotary Club and the Wauseon Exchange Club. He was a handyman for family and friends, and loved to travel, loved hunting, fishing and golfing.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia Ann; children, Ann (Steve Pfund) Schmunk, Sue & Tim Coll, and Bill & Betsey Murry. He is also survived by grandchildren, Anna (Joe) Molina, Nick (Ashley) Schmunk, Micah Schmunk, Abby Schmunk, Mary (John) Kay, Joshua (Brooke) Coll, Allison Coll, Danielle Coll, and Zoe Murry; great-grandchildren, Audra Schmunk, Ethan Kutzli, Justin Schmunk, Edward Schmunk, Brendan Coll, William Coll, and Henry Kay. He is also survived by brother, Chuck (Jane) Murry. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Louise (Lester) Rupp, and grandson, Travis (T-Dog) Coll.

Visitation for Cecil will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 31, 2018, also at the church, with Pastor Alex Ruhter, officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, in the Winameg Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded by the Fulton County Honor Guard. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Wave Community Church in Deshler, or, Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF). Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
