Charles Foust (1936-2018)

Charles L. Foust, Jr., 82, of Montpelier, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier. He was born on July 14, 1936 in West Unity to Charles L. Foust, Sr. and Urilla M. (Bohner) Foust. On March 30, 1958 he married Grace M. Swank in Kunkle, OH and she survives.

Junior attended Montpelier High School. He worked in maintenance at Powers and Sons in Montpelier for 35 years before retiring in 2016. Junior loved to fish and hunt, especially coon hunting with his father-in-law. He enjoyed playing cards and pool and was a member of the Eagles in Montpelier.

Junior is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Grace M. Foust; three children, Crystal Blue of Montpelier, Steven Foust of Montpelier and Gary (Cindy) Foust of Bryan; six grandchildren, Jeffery (Tami) Blue of Maumee, Charles Blue of Bryan, Angela (Matt) Hillard of Montpelier, Alixandria Foust of Butler, IN, Garrison Foust of Bryan and Erika Westfall of Dearborn Heights, MI; fifteen great grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Piepenbrink of Fort Wayne, IN; and beloved dog, Candy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters-in-laws, Augustus Swank, Lola Hoffman, Elmer Swank, Walter Wilson, Marjorie Thompson, Charles Swank, Gwendolyn Davis and Robert Swank.

A time to receive friends will take place on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4-7 pm at The Fraternal Oder of the Eagles in Montpelier. Memorial contributions may be made in Junior’s memory to the American Heart Association.
