Charles “Mike” Baker (1954-2020)

Charles Michael “Mike” Baker, age 65, of Pioneer, Ohio, passed away at 4:07 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center near Defiance, Ohio, after a brief Illness.

Mr. Baker was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and had been employed as a stationary engineer at the Sauder Power Plant in Archbold, Ohio. He enjoyed watching TV, especially “Chicago P.D.,” walking his dog, “Gizzie,” and playing games on his laptop.

Mike was born on June 19, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Charles and Audrey (Kelly) Baker. He married Pamela M. Boothman on Feb. 14, 1992, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Tim Smith; his stepchildren, Heath (Brooke Felt) Kemarly of Pioneer, Julie (Sean) Dowland of Fayette, Ohio, and Jeremie Kemarly of Montpelier, Ohio; eight grandchildren; one sister, Debbie (Ron) Rule of Cleveland, Ohio; and one brother, David (Candy) Baker, in Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Baker.


In keeping with Mike’s wishes there will be no services. Krill Funeral Service, 860 W. Mulberry St., Bryan, has been entrusted with arrangements.
