Charles J. Wyse, age 92 years, of Archbold, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 24, 2017, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan.
He was born June 25, 1925, near Archbold, the son of Charley and Cora (Rupp) Wyse, and married Patricia Short on October 3, 1948.
A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he farmed and worked at Rich Tractor in Archbold and later retired from Sauder Woodworking Co. in 1988. He was a volunteer at Sauder Village, Fulton County Health Center and Care & Share. He enjoyed interacting with his Hobo friends and attending conventions and was known as Lake Shore Charlie, and also enjoyed attending the Threshers Convention, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; four children, Samuel (June) Wyse of Austin, MN, David (Karen) Wyse of Pettisville, Audrey (Rob) Fricke of Archbold, and Chris (Christy) Wyse of College Grove, TN; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin “Tex” Wyse, and Merle (Donna) Wyse, both of Archbold; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Wyse of Stryker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; three brothers, Orval Wyse, Wayne Wyse, and an infant, Jesse; two sisters, Ada Short and an infant, Evelyn.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 2, at 10:30 AM at the Lockport Mennonite Church with Pastors Steven Heatwole and Matthew Weaver officiating.
