cindy-k-pierce-webCindy K. Pierce, 55 of Montpelier passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Sunday, September 4, 2016. She was born on November 1, 1960 in Montpelier to Emery A. and Audrey May (Zuver) Bible. A Montpelier resident for all of her life she graduated from Montpelier High School in 1979. She married Steve E. Pierce on July 5, 2013 in Montpelier and he survives.

Cindy worked at several local businesses in Montpelier including Powers and Sons for approximately five years and Beam Stream until its closing.

Cindy had many loves in her life including watching her grandson Ethan playing sports, gardening and taking care of her flowers, crocheting and sewing for others. She also enjoyed volunteering at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, especially for Bingo. Cindy was a member of the Bryan Am Vets, Montpelier Eagles and Montpelier Moose Lodge, where she held the title of Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 270.

Cindy is survived by her husband Steve, daughter Natosha Vanscoder and fiancé Kyle Shirey; grandson Ethan Beard; two brothers Jim (Michelle) Bible of Montpelier, Marty Bible of Pinehurst, North Carolina, a nephew Cory (Lisa) Bible; two nieces Trisha (Mike) Schreier and Amy (Andy Reliford) Birkhold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Nellie A. Waterston and grandfather Dennis C. Bible, Sr.


Visitation hours for Cindy will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 2-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier with a 7:30pm Women of the Moose memorial service. A funeral luncheon will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 11am-2pm at the Montpelier Moose. Donations may be made to the Donor’s Choice.
