Clarence D. “John” Wainwright, 79, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the Emergency Room at Parkview Bryan Hospital.
John was born June 11, 1945, in Grayling, Michigan, son of the late Darwin D. “Duane” and Marjorie (Sovia) Wainwright.
He married Susan M. Whiteman, on May 16, 1980, in Toledo, Ohio. John worked as self-employed handyman for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his four children, Johnathon (Chaloe Rodriguez) Wainwright of Bryan, Janet (Wesley Prater) Wainwright of Bryan, Tammy Wainwright of Wauseon, Ohio, and Summer (Tyler Dixon) Davis of Bryan; one step-son, Andrew (Amanda) Whiteman of Fayette, Ohio; nine grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Wainwright of Toledo, Ohio; and his former spouse, Susan Wainwright of Bryan.
John was preceded in death by his parents; an infant granddaughter, Ava Victoria Wainwright; and a sister, Marjorie Stewart.
To honor the family’s wishes, no public visitation or services will be held at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
