Clinton “Scott” McNeal (1954 – 2026)

(Celebrating A Hilltop Graduate’s Journey)

Clinton S. “Scott” McNeal, 71, of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at Evergreen Healthcare Center, Montpelier.

Scott was born Aug. 29, 1954, in Newport News, Virginia, the son of the late Clinton W. “Mac” and Beverly J. “Jean” (Beatty) McNeal. He was a 1972 graduate of Hilltop High School.

Scott worked in maintenance at Robinair Manufacturing Corp. until the factory closed in 2002, dedicating more than 30 years of service to the company.


He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Jr. Wyse Post 669 in West Unity. In his younger years, Scott played a lot of softball and tennis.

Later, he became an avid golfer and participated in many local golf leagues. One of his favorite hobbies was spending time in his pool whenever he had the opportunity.

Surviving are his three children, Kevin (Dede) McNeal of Southgate, Kentucky, Brock (Nickie) McNeal of West Unity, Ohio, and Kelsey (Devin) Shaffer of Lambertville, Michigan; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; girlfriend, Candi Devlaminck of Montpelier; and one brother, Jay (Shannon) McNeal of Bryan, Ohio. Scott was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Melanie J. McNeal.


Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. Arrangements are by Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Elara Caring Hospice.
