Column: TWO MINUTE DRILL – Are You Sure?

October 25, 2024No Comments3 Mins Read

By: Rex Stump

Are you sure this is going to work? Do you think it’s going to be okay? Have you heard these kinds of things before when it comes to competition, fulfilling a job, figuring out the weather, or other life situations?

As you sit there and wait for a report from a doctor, or you wonder what the impact of the storm is going to be like, the election outcome, or whether you passed the exam, or if you will be accepted…there are so many uncertainties that create stress and anxiety.

What if I asked you about life after death? Do you know 100% for sure, without a doubt, that after you die you will spend eternity in the presence of God? Do you know for sure? Or are you left wondering, lingering in uncertainty,

There are some things in life that are uncertain, but I believe God wants us to know with 100% certainty that salvation is promised and guaranteed!

Romans 10:9-10, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

1 John 5:13, “I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.

Romans 8:10-11, “And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God.

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”

Sometimes what is true and sometimes what we feel are two different things. Doubt can lead to defeat. God’s word is given to us, so that we know 100% for sure that we are saved. Don’t let the distance between your head and your heart keep you from salvation.

When you’re not 100%, not fully trusting, nor fully believing something, your doubt will lead to indecision, as well as hesitation.

Everyone knows that in competition and in life those are the kind of things that lead to defeat. When you fully believe and trust something, you will be more likely to engage in it, depend on it, and take steps of confidence and certainty.

Spiritually speaking with the certainty of salvation, we gain strength and confidence to obey all that God shares with us in his word! Know today with 100% certainty that your salvation is secure! Live it out by faithfully obeying God, with confidence and conviction.
