Connie Bates (1945 – 2024)

Connie Lou Bates, age 79, of Delta, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Lakes of Monclova; where she was a recent resident.

She was born in Wolf Lake, Indiana to the late Robert and Eileen (Fausnaugh) Price on June 11, 1945.

Connie graduated from Napoleon High School in 1963, before going on to attend Great Lakes Bible College. On June 19, 1964, she would marry Pastor Thomas A. Bates and they would spend 57 loving years together serving the Lord until his passing on December 1, 2021.


From this marriage they were blessed with three children who survive; Clint, Sean and Dawn. Connie began working as a secretary for the Delta Church of Christ in 1974 and later earned her Realtor’s License from Stautzenberger College in 1986; eventually she found her true passion at the Delta Public Library, serving as a librarian for many years before retiring.

Connie enjoyed caring for her flowers, enjoying the hummingbirds and most of all, spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Clint Bates of Delta, Sean (Amy) Bates of Liberty Center and Dawn (Charles) Welton of Navarre, Florida; grandchildren; Hayden and Maycie Bates, Scott and Lila Welton; brothers, Dennis (Cathy) Price and Ken (Marsha) Price; sisters, Linda Haller and Judy (Larry) Kincaid.


In addition to her parents and husband, Tom; Connie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Payton Lyn Bates in 2006.

Friends and family will be received from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta. A funeral service honoring Connie’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Fulton Union Christian Church, 5232 Co Rd HJ, Delta, Ohio 43515. Interment will follow at Fulton Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Fulton Union Christian Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
