Connie D. Grant

Connie D. GrantConnie D. Grant, 79, of Montpelier passed away Sunday afternoon at Genesis Healthcare in Bryan. She was born on August 10, 1937 in Montpelier. Her parents were Les and Leone B. (Stoy) Gamber.  Connie graduated from Montpelier High School in 1955. On August 13, 1955 she married Max D. Grant and he survives.

Connie was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier, where she was a very active member. She retired from the Isaac Corporation in 2001, but continued to work part time for George until her health prevented her from working. Prior to that she worked at Hayse-Albion Corp in West Unity for over 14 years as a book keeper until its closing. Connie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Christmas held a special place in her heart and would spend many hours decorating for this season. Connie also really enjoyed camping.

She is survived by her husband Max; son Lee (Bobbianne) Grant of Palm Harbor, Florida; daughter Kelly (Jeff) Hephner of Montpelier; four grandchildren Lynzi and Zachary Grant, AJ (Jackie) Hephner and Christopher Hephner; sister Pat McKenzie of Montpelier; one sister-in-law Joan Cox of Warsaw, Indiana; one brother-in-law Joe Grant of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Joseph Grant, two grandchildren, Megan and Benjamin Grant, and one brother Gary Masters.

A time to receive friends will be on Friday, August 26th from 4:30-6:30pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier with Pastor Richard Blank to officiate, with visitation from 12-1pm.


Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul’s UMC or Williams County Walk to End Alzheimer’s via the Northwest Ohio Alzheimer’s Association.  Online condolences can be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
