VARSITY BASEBALL

Archbold 2 Pettisville 0

Caleb Hogrefe hit into a fielder’s choice to drive in a run in the first and Jaybe Burkle added an RBI single in the second to lead Archbold past the Blackbirds 2-0. Zane Behnfeldt tossed a complete game for Bluestreaks as he allowed just one hit and struck out seven.

Evergreen 5 Edgerton 2

Evergreen pushed three runs across the plate in the top of the seventh to build their lead to 5-0 and were able to hold off the Bulldogs for a 5-2 win. Ashton Sayers had a three-hit night for Evergreen, Austin Marvin added two RBIs, and RJ Shunck went the distance on the mound with 11 strikeouts. Cole Meyer led the Edgerton attack by going 2-3 with two RBIs and Corey Everetts was 2-2 and scored a run.


Toledo Christian 10 Swanton 1

The Eagles blew the game open with two runs in the sixth and then three in the seventh as they defeated Swanton 10-1. Hunter Gowing and Drew Smigelski each doubled for the Bulldogs and Garett Swank accounted for the lone Swanton RBI.

Division IV Sectional Semifinals

Hilltop 25 Fayette 1 (5 innings)

Lana Baker had two singles, two doubles and a home run with six RBIs and recorded 11 strikeouts in the circle to lead Hilltop over Fayette 25-1. Hilltop, who set a school record for wins in a season with 22, collected 20 hits on the night with Holly Jermeay, Sara Barnum, and Hannah Riley adding three hits each and Barnum added five RBIs.


Antwerp 15 Edon 4 (5 innings)

Antwerp scored four times in the first inning and scored in every inning after that to get the 15-4 win over Edon. Jaycea Craven and Emma Hickman both knocked in two runs for Edon.

Regular Season

Edgerton 6 Fremont (IN) 2

The Lady Bulldogs (12-10) put four runs on the board in the first inning and Noelle Ritter fired a complete game while tallying eight strikeouts to pace Edgerton to a 6-2 win. Avery Degryse and Rylei Moreno were both 3-4 with a double for Edgerton and Ella Miller was 2-2 with a pair of doubles.
