Cynthia M. Hildebrand, age 59, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Monday morning, July 27, 2020, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, following complications from a recent stroke.

Cindy was born November 7, 1960 in Wauseon, Ohio to John and Donna (Barden) Vaculik. She was a 1979 graduate of Swanton High School, and married Brian L. Hildebrand on October 16, 1981.

Cindy and Brian enjoyed taking cruises to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean.  Cindy worked as a housekeeper and cleaned several homes in the area. When she came home from work, the first thing she did was slip into one of her favorite night gowns.

Cindy loved camping, Halloween, perch fishing, all sorts of crafting – including plastic canvas and crocheting.  But most of all, Cindy adored her beautiful grandchildren. Along with her unforgettable laugh, Cindy will always be remembered for her willingness to help others.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brian; son, Brian Lee (Elizabeth) Hildebrand; daughter, Katie (Kyle) Segrist; grandchildren, Joshua and Aubrey Hildebrand and Luke, Londyn, Logan and Holden Segrist; her father, John Vaculik; brothers, Todd (Lori) Vaculik and Eric (Dawn) Vaculik; father and mother-in-law, Doran and Joan Hildebrand and Sandy and Dale Neigebauer; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Vaculik; brother Greg Vaculik; and  granddaughters Hayley Mae and Hayden Jean Segrist.

Family and friends may visit Saturday, August 1st from 1:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church in Swanton, where a Vigil Service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Eric Culler presiding.  Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.weigelfuneralhomes.com
