Cynthia Mae (Lehmann) Spratt, 60, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on Aug. 31, 2022, at home after a 2-1/2-year valiant battle of Glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer.

She ran until she could run no more. Then she walked until she could walk no more. Then she fought until there just was no more.

Cindy was born on March 26, 1962, to Gary and Janet (Psurny) Lehmann in Bryan, Ohio. After graduating high school she married the love of her life, William Paul Spratt, and he survives.

They have celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three beautiful children who proudly chose military careers and who gave them five wonderful grandchildren: Christopher (Sabrina) Spratt and Gabriel, Shiloh, Illinois (MSGT in U.S. Air Force); Dr. Danielle (Ryan) Spratt-Sacksteder and Teagan and Grayson, St. Petersburg, Florida (U.S. Air Force Veteran); and Kevin (Crystal) Spratt and Eli and Lilliana, Homer, Arkansas (BMC in U.S. Coast Guard). Her grandchildren fondly called her Oma (grandmother in German). Also surviving are her canine companions, Bosco and Gracie Mae.

During the school years, she was involved in all of the kids’ sporting and club activities and volunteered many hours assisting any way possible.

She was a second “mom” to many kids! After all the children graduated from high school, Cindy and Bill moved to their lake house in Hamilton Lake, Indiana.

All friends and family made many wonderful memories at their lake house in Hamilton swimming, boating, skiing, tubing and lots of smiles and laughter.

Cindy worked at Sun Pharmaceuticals (ICN Pharmaceuticals) in Bryan for 30 years, where she met many lifelong friends and co-workers, and then moved to Florida where she worked for the United States Postal Service in Palm Coast.

Throughout the years Cindy blessed many friends and family with her excellent baking and cooking skills by making her famous rum cakes, cookies, candy, salsa, party mix and many other goodies.

It always smelled wonderful in the Spratt house! She also loved to sew and made many crafts, scrapbooks, quilts, blankets and anything fun she found in a craft book.

She was Betty Crocker and Martha Stewart rolled up into one! One of her favorite past-times was playing cards, and she loved her monthly card club with many special friends over the years.

Since her children were in the military, Cindy and Bill were fortunate to travel to many countries and places visiting with family and friends.

She even became a second “mom” to many military young adults, especially during the holidays when she would host dinners for those who didn’t have families that lived close.

Running was her passion and she ran many races, but is most proud of her marathon at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton.

She completed the 2021 Run the Year by running/walking 2021 miles. In 2022, her Team Braniac (Cindy, Danielle, Lisa, Crystal, Brianna) completed their 2022 Run the Year miles as a team in less than 5 months. She continued to add her miles until her journey was almost over.

Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Gary and Janet Lehmann, maternal grandparents Frank and Ilo Psurny, paternal grandparents Alvin and Viola Lehmann and in-laws Robert and Winnifred Spratt.

Surviving are her very close siblings Daniel (Tammy) Lehmann, Lisa (Brett) Knisely and Jeffery (Debra) Lehmann and in-laws Robert Spratt, Stephanie Soucie and Thomas Spratt. She also has many nieces and nephews who are very fond of her and all the memories they share together.

Special thanks to Hospice Care of Palm Coast who helped Cindy through the last journey of her life in the comfort of her home where she could be close to her husband Bill, her Knight in Shining Armor, and other family members.

The family will have a Celebration of Life in the future in honor of Cindy.Condolences can be sent to Bill Spratt, 12 Wayfair Lane, Palm Coast, FL 32164.

(Bill prefers no flowers, but he does love chocolate and fudge!)
