SYLVANIA (October 25, 2025) – Some days when a team is undefeated for the season, tournament time is the hex that puts that first loss down. This wasn’t one of those days.

Unbeaten Milan Edison scored two goals in the span of 14 seconds in the back 20 of the first half, and never looked back, as the Chargers hung a 6-0 defeat on Delta in a Division IV district final match at Sylvania Southview.

Edison is now 19-0-1 on the season as they head into the regionals at Bowling Green. Delta goalkeeper Peyton Winkler kept the game scoreless for the first 24 minutes as he made five saves in the first 20 minutes.

Kellen McDonnell’s header off a corner was cradled by Winkler and the Panther freshman stopped Carter Jones twice in those five attempts.

However, by the end of the day, Jones got his revenge. High scoring Alex Davidson helped get the Chargers on the board at the 16:32 mark of the first when he dumped a pass in the middle and Jose Serna-Amaya crossed Winkler to put Edison up 1-0.

Then 14 ticks later, Serna-Amaya crossed opposite to Jones for an easy touch and score to make it 2-0. Jones got another with 2:38 to go in the first when he headed Gavyn Blackburn’s corner into the net from the backside.

Delta only got one shot on Kaden Mees in the first 40 minutes, and the Panthers’ best scoring chance came when Nick Circle had a free kick from the 30-yard line.

However, the senior striker’s drive went just over the crossbar. Jones put away any doubt with 37:57 left in the match when he corralled a loose ball, made a move off a defender’s hip, and scored for a 4-0 Charger lead.

Jones wasn’t done for the day as he headed in a rebound after Davidson rapped a shot off the crossbar with six minutes left.

Davidson got into the scoring column and hit a milestone at the same time, when he split the defense off a Blackburn pass and drove his 100th career goal into the net.

Delta’s best chance in the second half came when Alex Mora tried to knock a deflected pass into the net but was stopped by Mees.

Delta got five shots against the Charger goalie. Winkler made 13 saves in the game for the Panthers. Delta’s season finishes with a record of 11-9, with the loss to Edison snapping a seven-game winning streak.
