Darrell Duane HancockDarrell Duane Hancock, age 71, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. He was born to Kathryn (Stratton) and Herbert Hancock on March 14, 1944, in Bryan, Ohio.

“Halftime Hancock” (as he was known by every referee in the county)/Buckshot/ “PA” was loved (especially by the people who stayed around long enough to see his hidden soft side). He will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing, racing, and sports – always an hour early and the first and “loudest” in the stands. Besides going to EVERY ballgame for 20 years, reading the newspaper, and keeping his yard mowed in perfect lines, his favorite thing was spending time with his four grandkids, Laken, Kolbe, Carson, and Tyler and mowing his lawn daily. He enjoyed living on his grandparents Scott Road homestead and was born to be a farmer. He loved ALL things nature; gardening, trees, and his “purdy” posies. He was “famous” for his love of popcorn, sweet tea, corn on the cob, and a good ole fish fry.

His wife, Sharilyn (Kolbe) Hancock survives. Their life was spent focused on their two children and their families. Daughter, Denae’ (Joe) Roose and their grandchildren, Laken and Kolbe of Bryan; daughter, Hayley (Mike) Brandt and grandsons, Carson and Tyler of Edon. He is also survived by sister, Norma Jean (Terry) Hagerman of Florida and brother, Darwin (Judy) Hancock of Evansport. He made a memorable impact on everyone he met and will be remembered forever through the many funny stories and “lessons” passed down to his grandkids.

The family will receive guests from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the Grisier Funeral Home, 109 S. Defiance St., in Stryker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 15, 2016 at the funeral home, followed by the burial service at the Evansport Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Greg Wack.
