David Goeltzenleuchter (1939-2021)

David L. Goeltzenleuchter, 81, of Montpelier passed away Friday evening at Community Hospital and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on December 31, 1939 in Montpelier to Louis R. And Virginia C. (Haase) Geoltzenleuchter.

David graduated from Montpelier High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego in the Pacific Fleet.

David retired from Action Precision Products in Pioneer. Prior to that he worked for Richmond Machine in Montpelier for 19 years as a fabricator and machinist. He enjoyed the outdoors, making model boats and woodworking.

He is survived by his children Barbara (Roger) Stover of Morenci, Michigan, and Mike (Sherrie) Goeltzenleuchter of Fayette; step children Belinda (Ed) Taylor of Jackson, Michigan and David (Jan) Batt of Bryan; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; siblings Louis (Nancy) Goeltzenleuchter of Palm Harbor, Florida, Jerry (Linda) Goeltzenleuchter of Bryan, Mariel Perkins of Bryan and Sue Miller of Jonesville, Michigan.

David was preceded in death by his parents, step daughter Dawn Rupp, brother Larry Goeltzenleuchter, first wife Patricia Ann (Bowers) Goeltzenleuchter and second wife LaDonna (Slusser) Goeltzenleuchter.


David will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Riverside Cemetery, with military rites provided by the Montpelier Veterans.
