Dean Schwarzbek (1944 – 2024)

Dean E. Schwarzbek, age 80, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at his home on Thursday morning, November 14, 2024.

He was a machinist at Aro Corporation for many years before he retired. Dean was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Farmer American Legion Post.

He enjoyed fishing, time at Marble Lake at Cottonwood Resort, and woodworking. He built his own home.

Dean was born on February 9, 1944, the son of Walter E. and Katherine (Bleikamp) Schwarzbek. He graduated from Fairview High School.


Dean served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. He married Christina Wonderly on July 24, 1971, and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2023.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Carrie (Craig) Kline, of Bellefontaine, Ohio; son, Craig (Melissa Baker) Schwarzbek, of Ney; grandchildren, Cameron and Cale Kline and Kobe and Kendall Baker and sister, LeeAnn (Gerald) Broadway, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation for Dean will be held at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. on Monday, November 18, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. He will be laid to rest at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Ney with graveside military rites provided by the Defiance VFW Honor Detail.
