Deborah S. Jackson, 61 years of Bryan, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, in her residence. Deb was born August 23, 1961, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Norman D. and Marilyn “Jeanie” (McDaniel) Bechtol-Thompson.

She was a 1979 graduate of Bryan High School, and continued her education at International Business College where she received her associate degree.

Deb married Jerry W. Jackson on December 28, 1981, in Bryan, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2014.


Deb was a Product and Service Quality Control Supervisor at Ohio Art for the past 25 years. She had also worked at First National Bank.

Deb operated the Community Countermeasure Program, an Alcohol and Drug Counseling Program until it closed in 2004.

She was a member of New Hope Community Church, Bryan. Deb was also a member of the Bryan Bowling Association and participated in golf leagues at the former Riverside Golf Course and at Suburban Golf Course.


Deb enjoyed bowling, golfing, baking cakes and watching the Hallmark Channel.

Surviving are her three children, Crystal Jackson of Bryan, Ohio, Colonel Robert (Teresa) Jackson USMC of Harkers Island, North Carolina, and John Jackson of Beaufort, North Carolina; her mother, Marilyn “Jeanie” Thompson of Bryan; five siblings, Peggy (Tim) Osterhout of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Ken (Amy) Thompson of Palm Coast, Florida. Dawn Thompson of Maumee, Ohio, Ronald (Dottie) Thompson of Bryan, Marianne Thompson of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her father, and her husband, Jerry.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Monday, July 10, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Memorial Services for Deborah S. Jackson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, in the Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Nicholls officiating. Interment will be private in Fountain Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
