Monroe Township – On May 17, 2021 at 4:00 PM, Cindel Fenter was southbound on County Road 22 driving a 1999 GMC Suburban. Ms. Fenter drove off the right side of the roadway, came back on to the roadway and drove off the left side of the roadway.
The vehicle then struck a ditch and overturned. Ms. Fenter was not wearing her safety belt. She was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Two children age three and one were passengers in the vehicle.
Ms. Fenter, age 31, from Defiance, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home by the funeral home. The Suburban sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene by 419 Towing and Recovery.
Both children were transported by Continental EMS to Mercy Health Putnam County Medical Center in Glandorf, Ohio. Both children were secured in child safety seats and suffered only minor injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, The Continental Police Department, Continental Fire and EMS, The Putnam County Coroner’s Office, and 419 Towing and Recovery.
The crash remains under investigation
