Delta softball player, Lainey Bilek (pictured above) recently hosted a softball camp for 21 future Panthers on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

She had volunteer help during the camp from her teammates Kenzie Clapp, Riley Taylor, Carlie Mitchell, Sophie Ford, and Gracyn Pelton.

The camp was developed for a school Honors English passion project that Bilek dedicated her time to. She developed the entire camp from start to finish with the guidance of Coach Whitaker and Coach Bre.

Bilek focused on drills that would improve players throwing velocity, accuracy, and catching. The campers then moved on to hitting where they worked on drills and each participated in live hitting.

Bilek has played softball since she was 8 years old, and has a love for the game and has a dream of playing in college.

Bilek said she enjoyed sharing her love of the game with others and hopes to put another camp on at the suggestion of the attendees in the future.
